Bristol NUJ has confirmed date, time and venue for its session on How to Be a Freelance.
Open to NUJ members and to non-members, it will take place at at 11.30am on Saturday August 18th upstairs at the Stag & Hounds, Old Market, Bristol.
Attending will be a good handful of working Bristol freelances active in a number of different fields ready to share their experiences. Also attending will be Barry Fitzpatrick, deputy general secretary of the NUJ.
Among the areas we’ll talk about are:
PR
Trade press
New media
Hyperlocal publications
Charities
Education
… plus practical subjects like tax and accounts, and sources of training, including the NUJ.
And of course the benefits of NUJ membership, for those who aren’t members! Many freelances find the NUJ to be a really useful network of contacts that helps find them work as well as being a source of support.
Please email Branch chair Paul Breeden if you can attend, even if you have already indicated you’d like to come. And indicate if there’s anything you’d like covered, or any other queries you have.
There will be a £5 charge for non-members.
